Dīpaṃkara Buddha, the twenty-fourth predecessor of Śākyamuni, who always appears when a Buddha preaches the gospel found in the <Lotus Sūtra>, in which (sa) sūtra he is an important hearer; also [lang id =1028]錠光; [lang id =1028]提洹竭 (or [lang id =1028]提和竭); [lang id =1028]大和竭羅.
